AWA Racing has been confirmed as the first customer team for Corvette’s ZO6 GT3.R package for the 2024 and 2025 IMSA WeatherTech Championship seasons.

The team runs two Duqueine D08 LMP3 entries in the 2023 season, and will take on the upcoming SportsCar Weekend at Road America.

LMP3 will depart from the WeatherTech package to reduce the number of categories down to four, and Canadian outfit AWA Racing has decided to pursue a two-car campaign in the GTD class for the next two seasons.

Their entries add to the pair of Z06 GT3.Rs which will be run by Corvette Racing By Pratt Miller, bringing the Corvette GTD presence up to four next year.

Christie Bagne, the Corvette Z06 GT3.R programme manager, said: “We are happy to welcome AWA to the Corvette Racing family.

“It was important for us to select a highly competitive and collaborative team to be our first representative in the WeatherTech Championship’s GTD class.

“AWA is a fantastic choice. The team has a proven capability of winning races in multiple sports car categories and series.

“Our goal is to help AWA compete for championships and race wins with the Z06 GT3.R in 2024 and beyond.”

“It’s great to welcome AWA into our fold,” added Ben Johnson, Pratt Miller Motorsports’ technical director.

“We have a deep amount of respect for the team’s level of technical understanding and capabilities.

“In our meetings and discussions, it’s clear there is a high level of engineering cooperation and insight that will be valuable to rapidly develop the Z06 GT3.R and our customer support program going forward.”

“I am honoured to have the opportunity for AWA to represent Corvette in the IMSA WeatherTech Championship,” concluded Andrew Wojteczko, AWA Team Owner and Technical Director concluded.

“I have the utmost respect for the people involved and am looking forward to doing our part to help secure results for the Z06 GT3.R.”

Their driver line-ups will be revealed in due course prior to their GTD debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona next year.
