Severe weather battered the Interlagos circuit in full force at the
end of Q3 during qualifying for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. The
threatening skies effectively turned a summer day into a night time
frenzy, as a mix of heavy rain, thunder and lightening hit the
track. A grandstand also had its roof destroyed at the final corner
, with F1 confirming that there were no serious injuries. Could we
see the same happen throughout the rest of the weekend? During the
early morning on Saturday there will be some showers that will
occur near Sao Paulo, with a 65% chance they will reach the track.
While there is no F1 action on track at this time, it will still
impact the grip levels for the rest of the day. The chances of
showers is reduced in the afternoon, so the Sprint Shootout and
Sprint race are likely to be dry. The maximum temperature will be
around 28 degrees and a mostly moderate westerly wind is blowing.
Humidity is quite high at 65%.
