Carrying on his earlier momentum, Max Verstappen topped second practice for the 2023 Mexico City Grand Prix to complete a perfect Friday of running for the Dutchman.

In a session that saw some very light spells of rain, Verstappen headed the pack with a time of 1:18.656s, 0.119s ahead of the McLaren of Lando Norris.

Charles Leclerc was third fastest in the Ferrari, 0.266s off the benchmark set by the three-time champion. He was closely followed by Valtteri Bottas as Sergio Perez completed the top five.

Daniel Ricciardo was sixth fastest, ahead of Lewis Hamilton, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri and George Russell.
