Max Verstappen will head into qualifying for the Mexico City Grand Prix unbeaten after topping the final practice session at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

The Dutchman pipped Alex Albon by only 0.070s, with the Williams driver splitting the Red Bulls and appearing in second place for the second time this weekend.

Mercedes appear to have made overnight progress after struggling on Friday as George Russell wound up third, but Lewis Hamilton remained rooted down in 10th.

Oscar Piastri led the way for McLaren to complete the top five, the two papaya-liveried cars split by Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas and the AlphaTauri of Yuki Tsunoda.

Daniel Ricciardo cemented his place inside the top half of the order ahead of qualifying in ninth, ahead of Hamilton’s Mercedes to round out the top 10.
