Ferrari Team Principal Frederic Vasseur has stated that other teams
must trust that Formula 1 will stage a successful event in Las
Vegas. Next weekend the sport will descend upon the Nevada city for
the penultimate round of the campaign. The Grand Prix will be
staged on Saturday for the first time in almost 40 years and part
of the track will feature the famous Las Vegas strip. The event has
been heavily marketed since its announcement with F1 promoting the
race consistently throughout the year. However, concerns have been
raised over the event and te cold track temperatures that will be
present due to the sessions taking place at late times. “Sure,
Vegas will be difficult but I think everybody is anticipating that
it will be difficult,” Vasseur told media including
RacingNews365.com . “It will be more than a night race. It could
be… I don’t know what. “Conditions will be very, very cold but
it’s a new truck with a kind of special layout. “We have to take it
as an opportunity to come back at Mercedes [in the Constructors’
Championship]. However, Vasseur is confident that the race weekend
will be a success. “We have to trust them. If you have a look at
Miami last year, it went pretty well, at least on the racing side.
“The track was well prepared and it will be the same with Vegas.”
