For the first time since the 1985 South African Grand Prix, Formula
1 is set to host a Saturday Grand Prix this weekend in Las Vegas.
It is 680 races since that race at Kyalami, with the 50-lap affair
in Vegas set to run down the world-famous Strip, with the race
getting underway at 22:00 local time on Saturday night in Nevada.
The race will be the 21st, and penultimate, in the season, with Max
Verstappen currently on a run of five straight wins after his
defeat in Singapore. Team-mate Sergio Perez can secure second place
in the Drivers’ over the weekend, currently holding a 32-point lead
over Lewis Hamilton. Should Perez out-score Hamilton by six points,
and hold an advantage of 26 after the race, he will bank Red Bull’s
