Ross Gunn of the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 secured overall pole position at Lime Rock Park ahead of tomorrow’s 2 hour and 40 minute race.

A thrilling 15-minute qualifying session took place after FP1 and FP2 which saw the two IMSA GTD classes mixed together at Lime Rock Park.

The #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 GTD car had a brief moment when it went into the Turn 1 runoff, showcasing the limits drivers were looking to push to seek out extra potential in lap time.

GTD-Pros covered the top-five positions in the overall order whilst the GTDs trailed closely behind, with Gunn’s #23 qualifying lap record time of 50.593 at the front.

Jack Hawksworth in the #14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 was in second place with a 50.784, as FP2 topper Antonio Garcia qualified third in his #3 Corvette Racing C8.R and a 50.897 lap time.

Jules Gounon was fourth in the #79 WeatherTech Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 as Patrick Pillet was fifth in the #9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R; half a second covered the entire GTD-Pro field.

Michael Skeen was fastest in the 15-car GTD class, lining up his #32 Mercedes-AMG sixth on the grid thanks to a 51.157 lap time.

In seventh overall, and second in GTD, was Frederik Schandorff in the #70 Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3 after missing out to the #32 by 0.007 seconds.

Third place in the GTD class went to Misha Goikhberg’s #78 Forte Racing Powered by USRT Lamborghini Huracan EVO2. A time of 51.184 put the car ahead of Roman De Angelis’ efforts in the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin.

Rounding off the overall top-10 order was Frankie Montecalvo in the #12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 with his personal best lap time of 51.400.
