Alex Palou took victory away from Colton Herta at Road America this weekend, continuing his hot streak and extending his points lead well over a full race’s worth of points.

Herta led most of the laps after starting on pole, and it was only a late need for fuel saving that dropped him from the lead back to fifth by time the checkered flag flew.

Scott Dixon recovered remarkably from his 23rd starting position, and was able to work his way all the way up to fourth.

A few drivers pushed the limit too far and found themselves in the grass. There were no major incidents, however, as being stuck in the gravel was the most damage done to the cars on track.

In two weeks, the series will reconvene at Mid-Ohio for another natural terrain road course that serves as Honda’s home race.
