Andretti Global has announced a multi-year extension with Kyle Kirkwood for the team’s IndyCar program.

Kirkwood joined Andretti in 2023 after running his rookie IndyCar season with AJ Foyt Racing, and has now secured his future with an extended contract at Andretti.

The Floridian worked his way up to IndyCar through the prescribed feeder series program, winning the championship in each of the three junior categories before making the jump to the premiere series when he was 22 years old.

Kirkwood has gone on to win two races this year, at Long Beach and Nashville, and hopes to expand upon that success with his continued tenure at Andretti.

“Kyle’s dedication and talent have been instrumental in our team’s success this past season, and he has continued to show that he has what it takes to compete at the highest level in the NTT IndyCar Series,” said Michael Andretti.

“Our goal has always been to consistently compete for wins and Championships and we felt that solidifying Kyle’s future at Andretti was key to making that happen.

“Bringing Kyle into the multi-year plans along with Colton [Herta] and Marcus [Ericsson] will only strengthen the continuity we’ve been looking for in our IndyCar program.”

Kirkwood will remain in the #27 entry with backing from AutoNation, continuing the branding link that he began to develop this past season.

All three of Andretti’s confirmed drivers are now on multi-year contracts, which shows how confident the team is in the talent of its driver lineup.

There are still questions about whether the team will run a fourth full time car as it has in recent years, with those questions becoming more prominent due to Ganassi’s expansion to five full time entries for 2024.
