The start of Free Practice 2 for the 2023 F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix
will be delayed following the drain incidents that led to the
abandonment of FP1. In the first 10 minutes of the session, Carlos
Sainz collided with a loose drain cover on the Strip, destroying
the Ferrari. Esteban Ocon also collected debris, forcing Alpine to
change his chassis, with the red flags being deployed and the
remainder of the session cancelled. The FIA, F1 and engineers then
began track inspections for the rest of the drains around the
circuit, with a single water value cover failure being traced as
the cause of the loose drain. As such, there is a delay to the
start of FP2, but there is no time frame for when the session will
start or how long it will be In the blog, we will provide you with
the latest developments during FP2 from Las Vegas. You can easily
switch between live timing and the live blog via the tabs. Below
you will find our dedicated live blog and live timing hub; the
times refresh automatically during the session, so you are always
